It’s a glorious day! I finally found the cassette recording of that time Dr. Demento played a phoned-in request of mine on the air!
I asked to hear a really strange song, “My Name Is Larry,” by Wild Man Fisher, sometime in 1978, and my recorded request was put on the air. Here’s the request, along with the beginning of the song (until the radio reception gave out).
That short clip of the actual song explains why my request sounds like I’m an idiot (besides the obvious conclusion that I am, in fact, an idiot). I think I did a pretty good imitation of Wild Man Fisher in my request. You decide.
